Wine Wednesday – Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s been a while since my last Wine Wednesday.

Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvignon, is one of my favorites.

Dreaming Tree Wines, are:

“An exciting collaboration between Dave Matthews and acclaimed winemaker Steve Reeder, Dreaming Tree captures the spirit of California’s wine country.” –Dreaming Tree

If you are a Dave Matthews Band fan, then you probably have heard the song “Dreaming Tree” which the winery is named after.

The Dreaming Tree Cabernet is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.  It is described as “classic aromas of blackberry, cherry, and dry herb notes are wrapped by toasted vanilla and soft, mouth-filling tannins. It’s elegant and supple.” DreamingTreeWines.com

Personally, I think it has a rich flavor and I can certainly taste the cherry and occasionally the vanilla.  I think it is very smooth and very easy to drink – and I have had several non-wine drinkers agree.  I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert in May (or was it June) and I brought a bottle of this with me to enjoy before hand.  Everyone who tried it liked it.

Bottom Line: The Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvignon is good.  I wish it was a little bit cheaper, but you can find it on sale at Harris Teeter frequently.  Additionally, Dreaming Tree wines are made with sustainability in mind so you can feel good about drinking it.

Question: What is your favorite wine of late? I’m always looking for recommendations!

  1. I’m definitely going to find this! Thanks for the great reco!

I’ve been drinking a lot of the Layer Cake recently – it’s easy to find in stores and restaurants!

  2. The Dreaming Tree “Crush” it the BEST wine EVER! It is by far, my favorite red blend. I have had the Cab before and it is also quite delish. I am a fan of Drops of Jupiter wine also, can you guess who is co-maker of that one? :)
