Hi Everyone! Happy Mother’s Day!!!! Can you believe Sunday is already winding down? I have had an extremely productive weekend running errands and organizing. I’ve been working on the blog alot lately, I’ve divided all of the recipe pages up by type – added several reviews pages, a meals for one page, and Chocolate, Cheese & Wine pages – so PLEASE check them out! Let me know what else you would like to see by emailing me at: laurenofccw@gmail.com. You should also check out my trip to Savory Spice Shop in Raleigh.
I managed to squeeze a much-needed Trader Joe’s run in today – after seeing how bare my refrigerator has been for the last two weeks – I actually needed (instead of wanted) to go to the grocery store.
Trader Joe’s, as always, was packed. I swear, there is never an off time to visit TJ’s – I’ve gone at 8:45 PM and still had to wait in line. That place is amazing. Meandering the aisles of Trader Joe’s I had Brie on the mind. After reading Make It Naked’s post about Brie Bonbons yesterday – I knew that I had to get that creamy delicious cheese that is brie.
An hour and a half later, I made it out of Trader Joe’s with quite a few things. The highlights of which are:
Salsa verde, Dijon mustard and Soyaki (which I sampled and absolutely loved).
Caramelized Onion Dip which I dug into the second I got into my apartment and it is absolutely fantastic by the way.
White Stilton with Mango and Ginger, and light Brie. I have been eyeing the Stilton for weeks and finally just decided to buy it. I have absolutely no idea how it will taste but I have high hopes for it. The Brie, I ate on some strawberries and it was A-Mazing.
Look at that fruity Stilton! Yummy. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Since I had strawberries I though Brie would be delicious on them – and I was right. The Brie Bonbons, almost inspired me to cover the strawberries in chocolate and then dip them in Brie but I was way to lazy to melt chocolate. I’ll leave that for tomorrow.
I also picked up some Moscato which I love to drink as a dessert wine in the summer time – I”ll probably drink it next weekend on my trip to Myrtle Beach. The Sangiovese I bought because it was $2.49 and you can never go wrong with cheap Trader Joe’s Wine.
Since we’re on the topic of wine – has anyone tried any of the new Chocolate Wines I keep seeing in the grocery store? Are they good? Any brand recommendations?

I love me some TJs wine n’ cheese. A common warm-weather Friday dinner for me & the hubby = 1 (or two) french loaves, 1 hard cheese, olive spread, and 1 (or two) bottles of cheap wine on the porch. Love it!
Hmmm that sounds delicious! I made a bruschetta type appetizer last night using Brie and it was fabulous with some TJ’s wine!
